   Mark has been developing his spirituality and therapy skills for over a decade and has three main areas of focus: Reiki, Shamanic Work, and Tarot.

   Having recently solidified his shamanic training with a Diploma in Classical and Cross-Cultural Shamanic Studies from the Four Gates Foundation, Mark is pleased to offer shamanic healing as a way of bringing wellness and integration to your entire self. He also teaches shamanic crafts with workshops including Drum Making, as well as personal and spiritual development through his Shamanic Course.

   Mark is a Reiki Master/Teacher in the Usui Shiki Ryoho system of Reiki. He offers Reiki treatments - both in person and at a distance - as well as classes in the First and Second Degrees of Reiki. Mark also organises Reiki shares for his and Lily's students.

   As a founder member of the Equinox School of Tarot, Mark has developed a range of courses to teach people how to read the cards, and then progress with their skills and spiritual development to higher levels. He also offers Tarot readings on a one-to-one basis either in person or online. Mark is currently designing his own Tarot deck for completion by the end of 2008.

   Mark is a registered Master Teacher Member of the UK Reiki Federation, a listed Shamanic Practitioner with the Four Gates Foundation and a member of the Reiki Association (a community of people initiated into Reiki), listed in their Master's Directory. He also runs the Equinox Shop & Therapy Space with his mother, Sheila.

Sheila Barwell

* Indian Head Massage

   Sheila has been developing her therapy skills with training in massage techniques and is fully qualified in Swedish Massage and Indian Head Massage. She incorporates her Reiki training into these treatments and is also available for Reiki treatments on their own.

   As a founder member of the Equinox School of Tarot, Sheila works alongside her son, Mark, in delivering quality Tarot training to several skill levels and is also pleased to offer Tarot readings on a one-to-one basis.

   Sheila runs a 5-week Meditation for Beginners course for those wishing to learn relaxation techniques, and a Lavender workshop to explore this useful plant.

   Several hand-crafted items are created by Sheila and are available in The Shop section of this site, as well as being sold at Equinox, the shop and therapy space that she runs with Mark.

   Sheila is a registered Practitioner Member of the UK Reiki Federation and a member of the Reiki Association, a community of people initiated into Reiki.

Gareth Hughes

* Crystal Therapy

   Gareth has been involved in spirituality since his teens and feels that he is on a journey of understanding of the natural systems around us. He has always been fascinated by nature and natural things, saying: "I personally think that one of the most spiritually rewarding things to do is plant trees!"

   Having formalised his work with the Crystal Therapy Practitioner's Course at the International School of Vibrational Healing in Glastonbury, Gareth offers Crystal Therapy as a means of creating wellness in conjunction with the healing power of crystals.
   "I believe crystals can be a powerful healing and teaching tool especially in connection with our own body’s energy system and our ability to use and control our energies to promote health, wellbeing and spiritual evolution."

   Gareth has run the Crystal Meditation workshop at Equinox since December 2005 and continues to offer these as regular monthly sessions. He also incorporates his Reiki II training with his work and is a member of the Reiki Association, a community of people initiated into Reiki.

Steve Monk

Lily Thomson

* The Journey

   Lily Thomson is an experienced Reiki Master/Teacher and member of The Reiki Association (a community of people initiated into Reiki which honours the traditional teaching and simplicity of The Usui System of Reiki) and can trace lineage directly to Hawayo Takata. Lily has studied and worked in America, Canada, Australia, The Philippines, Brazil and the UK. She lists regular visits to Brazil developing a Reiki pastoral team of 9 teachers and 77 practitioners who visit the sick and dying in a church community in Sao Paulo as one of her achievements.

   Lily, after an intensive course of training with Brandon Bays in England and Australia, became an accredited Journey therapist in 2001 and has built up a successful practice in Essex.

   A mother and a grandmother with a background of teaching and chaplaincy, Lily favours balance in all areas. Her courses have come from her own experience and are energising, practical and fun.
